El Reto del Camino
52km a Day. One Day for One Child.
El Reto del Camino follows ultramarathoner Mariluz Viña as she takes on the Camino de Santiago — the historic pilgrim route from Saint Jean Pied de Port, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. What typically takes pilgrims a month to walk, Mariluz ran in just 15 days, covering roughly 52 kilometers every single day.
She wasn’t running for herself. Each day of the challenge was dedicated to a child being treated at Hospital Sant Jude in the Dominican Republic, which cares for children with cancer. Along the way, the campaign raised approximately €8,600, helping an unknown number of families carry the weight of their children’s treatment.
15 Days · 52km/Day · €8,600 Raised
Shot over 15 days on the road alongside Mariluz, capturing the physical toll, the small victories, and the quiet determination behind an extraordinary act of generosity.
The footage then took roughly a month in post-production to become the film it is today — an intimate, honest portrait of one woman’s extraordinary act of generosity.
